Remember To Play

Good old Steven Meisel for Vogue US. From March 2006, this is one editorial I never get tired of seeing again; it always manages to lift my mood. As my exams are right around the corner, a little colour, fun and inspiration is always welcome. Full editorial here.

Jabberwocky!

I haven't seen the new Alice in Wonderland movie yet, even though I normally love Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and the Lewis Carroll book. And none of the movie related merchandise has won me over before now. Then I found these handcrafted rings by H.Stern in partnership with Disney. These amazing sculptures need to be on my fingers as soon as possible.

Queen Camilla

Camilla Skovgaard is rather famous for her shoes featuring that easily recognizable claw-cut sole. Most people love it, some think it's a bit vulgar, and we'll see much more of it when the fall collection hits the stores.

I am a big fan (no surprise there), and I'm also excited about the new, even bolder shape below. (Would you call that style a wedge?) While Skovgaard likes experimenting with shapes, the colours are quite toned down, making the shoes rather wearable.

As always I have to ask; which pair do you prefer? I'd love any of these, but if I have to pick one favourite, I'll go with the pale grey "wedge".

Moody Monday

Today I love messy hair, black leather, straps, buckles and plenty of skin on display.

I had a rather therapeutic night out on Saturday. As dumb as it may sound, sometimes I need a good party and too much alcohol to really feel like myself again. I was wearing the tiniest black dress (complete with mesh side panels), false lashes and sky-high boots, and felt like queen of the night. As much as I enjoy dressing for school and work, on Saturday night it was great to just relax and focus on feeling damn sexy for a few hours.

One Ring

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

Evolution

Louis Vuitton / Balenciaga

It's Friday, and here's a little bit of eye candy for you. I really like the LV pump (and it's such an upgrade from the shoes of the current season that I have no words), but next to the Balenciaga it looks a bit ordinary. Love the colours of both, though!

The Armadillo

I like to call myself shoe-obsessed. I love all the shoes from the Alexander McQueen SS10 show, including the monster "armadillo" and "alien" heels. I'm certain people with little interest in fashion would think me crazy because of this, and sometimes I wonder if I might be a little too emotionally invested in this business. Then I see images like the one below, and know that there are people with way more dedication to fashion than myself. I must say I really admire this guy!

Shady

Jil Sander / Balenciaga

Nope, not done with the fall accessory report yet. And there are more interesting things to report than shoes.

While pale colours and flower motifs are all over the trends of spring, these bags rely on interesting shapes and textures to prove their brilliance. In shades going from grey to dark grey to black they're not even close to becoming boring. I wouldn't mind seeing the Jil Sander Manga Madame bag everywhere, as I know I certainly won't be able to afford it. The Givenchy Eve bag below is another favourite.

Soft Monday

Pants: 3.1 Phillip Lim / Skirt: Jil Sander / Sandals: Donna Karan / Pumps: Charlotte Olympia
Bag: Maison Martin Margiela / Shorts: Chloé / Dress: Donna Karan / Jacket: Rick Owens'
All from Net-a-Porter and Browns fashion.

Haven't gone window shopping online for a while, but I've got a big party coming up this Saturday, and as usual it feels like my closet is empty all of a sudden. The Donna Karan dress and sandals above would have been perfect...

I keep wondering how long I'll be on this pastel kick. I still think of myself as a girl wearing mostly greys and blacks, but I keep putting on floral dresses and pale tights. At least nobody says you can't wear those light shades with an attitude.

Pretty Ladies

Today was a lovely, lazy Sunday. I've done nothing of importance, just spent the whole day doing little things I enjoy. Read a wonderful book while sitting in the sun. Ate frozen blueberries with yoghurt. Tried on a few of last years summer dresses I found in the back of the closet.

As you might gather from these pictures, I'm still loving all things pale and pretty. And I really, really want to buy a cape, though I won't be able to use it much until fall.
