Spring Forward

Style.com Spring 2009 accessory report = brilliant way to waste time and spend imaginary money. Nice to see that the Prada heels look just as tall as they were on the runway. Remember; don't wear those towers with socks...

I haven't had the time to browse through all the images yet, but my impression is that there is an abundance of coloured footwear about to grace the feet of fashionistas all over the world. Yes, please! Remember that shoe order I was supposed to place the other... month? Well, I'll be ordering shoes come April, and I just can't wait!

Beauty and the Beach

Ah, beach editorials, how I love them. The contrast between the bright sun, blue water and sky paired with the dark clothing and make up makes this one particularily captivating. While I'd never wear anything like this to the beach (careful, the Balmain is getting wet!), the shoot still gets me longing for summer, sun and sand. We got another load of snow yesterday, which makes the thought of a vacation very tempting.

Blue Suede Shoes

My dear laptop died yesterday. At the moment I'm hoping it's just taking a rest, because if I lose all the image folders saved on it, I think I might die.

Yves Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 09/10

These babies are gorgeous. I think I've mentioned earlier that I'm going to make myself get some coloured footwear this spring, and wearing colours like that blue above would make me a very happy girl indeed. I also love the interesting arch that makes these shoes a sort of cross between a platform stiletto and a wedge.

By the way, did anybody else notice unusual amounts of suede shoes stomping down the runways this season?

Sexy at Chalayan

Fall usually means covering up in big coats and heavy layers, but what grabbed my attention at the Hussein Chalayan Fall/Winter 09/10 show was all the beautiful little party dresses.

Now, the looks I've picked here are my favourites; very wearable mini dresses in interesting texture and colours. These aren't really that representative of the full collection. Chalayan is known for experimenting with extreme and unusual fabrics (acetate foam was used this time around), so I recommend taking a look at the full collection here to get a better feel of the show.
