Weekend Links Revisited

Today; a small collection of funny and bizarre things I've stumbled across lately.

Sheena Matheiken has decided to wear the same dress (or, rather, seven identical dresses, to make things a bit more sanitary) every single day for a whole year. While I think this is quite remarkable, I know it's something I'd never be able to pull off. I'd get bored within the first month! This sounds like a well planned project, though:

The dress is designed so it can be worn both ways, front and back, and also as an open tunic. It’s made from a durable, breathable cotton, good for New York summers and good for layering in cooler seasons.

Studs, Shreds, Leggings and Shoes; It's Weekend Links

Park & Cube is one of my favourite fashion blogs/bloggers. This girl has great style, takes very good pictures, loves studs and is always successful with her DIY projects. Did I mention my late fascination with DIY? Several times? Ok, then. Here are some of my favourites from the Park & Cube blog:


This week: P&C studs the underside of a bag, to mimic the style of an Alexander Wang bag Mary-Kate Olsen was seen wearing. The result? Stunning! (Mary-Kate's bag is supposedly from the A Wang FW09 collection, which means it hasn't been shown on a runway yet. Or, rather, that it is being carried down the runway as I'm typing this post. Whoa, excited now!)


Then, these shredded and chained shorts were also inspired by an A Wang collection.


And then we have the Park & Cube version of the brilliant SS09 Rodarte leggings! Gorgeous!


Although I've just read about it, it seems like Rodarte leggings have been done by several bloggers lately. Here is another version, this one from January, and it's just as brilliant as the P&C version.


This weeks shoes done wrong and right:


Camille, what are you doing? Those poor Marnis... Alter your shoes all you want, but please, not with sharpie! It's a bit weird to feel queasy about what another blogger does to a pair of shoes, but that was how I felt when I saw this post.


On the other hand, I literally gasped with awe when I saw this post at SeaofShoes. Is this the perfect pair of shoes? I'm thinking yes. Exclusive, tall, elegant, extreme, dangerous. My envy of Jane's shoe collection just grew.

Weekend links

Yet another snowful Saturday, and I've no intention at all of leaving the house tonight. Here's a few links to stuff that's caught my attention the last week:



Susie Bubble is adoring the Iris Van Herpen Fall/Winter 2009 collection. Studs? Leather strips? I'm in! Mmm, look at that intricacy and attention to details!



Miss Woo introduced me to my shoe lust of the week: wonderful black patent wedges from Tristan Blair.



While I can't really understand French that well, it's obvious that Daphné adores current and past Chloé campaigns. Romantic and beautiful picture post.



Rumi's got a new sweater, and the following discussion among commenters gets pretty ridiculous. I must admit I'm a bit jealous of her wardrobe, though I'd probably style this particular piece a bit differently myself.



DIY of the week; medieval chains. I wish I lived somewhere I could get away with wearing just a singlet.

Weekend Links; First Edition

Blogging is no fun without interaction between people, right? Every weekend I'll try to post a few highlights of the week from around the fashion blogosphere; posts that have made me stop and think, put a grin on my face, or even made me wish I'd thought of posting that.



Lena is getting a head start on what might very well become a huge trend this summer; cropped shirts. I'm just warming up to the trend myself, and know I will need a few hours in the gym before I'm quite ready.



Jennine at The Coveted takes a quick look at the beautiful backside of the Egyptian inspired Sophia Kokosalaki SS09 collection.



At Cherry Chapstick (written mostly in Norwegian), blogger Rikke lusts after the shoes of summer. Colourful flats, interesting gladiators and of course heels, all at very affordable prices!




The verdict is still out on whether this is haute couture or just a ready to wear collection shown during couture, but that's beside the point. Blogger Mike talks about a collection I've skipped; Felipe Oliviera Baptiste. Great leggings, wonderful patterns and colours, and extremely wearable!



And lastly a good but old link; Camille shows us how to rip up t-shirts the right way. I've been wanting to try both this and acid washing a pair of jeans for a while now.
