The Darker Side

threeASFOUR - full collection

Before moving on to the European fashion weeks, I'd like to point out the few collections from New York that really made an impression on me. Fellow blogger bravegrrl steered me towards threeASFOUR (thank you!), with a strong, dark and amazing collection derived from alchemy and metals. The looks weren't as readily wearable as most New York fashion normally is, but I'm pleased to see designers who aren't afraid of taking risks.

Rad Hourani - full collection

A relatively new player in the fashion game, Canadian born Rad Hourani always amaze me with his dark visions. While sticking mostly to black, the textures and cuts prevent this collection from ever coming close to boring, and the versatility of the pieces amaze me. According to style.com, "Apparently, there was a single jacket on the runway worn ten different ways."

Narciso Rodriguez - full collection

While not exactly colourful, I loved the use of colour in the Narciso Rodriguez fall collection. Fluid, organic and rather minimalistic, with what feels like shadows playing across the fabrics.
