Hello Kitty

Here's one more editorial featuring a member of the animal kingdom. This little ocelot is just way too adorable not to have its own post.

Sure, the styling here is good, the make-up is pretty and all that jazz, but the feline is the star of the show. I've always been a cat person, so it's no wonder I'm in love!

Editorial from Vogue Paris, March 2007. More at Noirfacade.

The World We Once Believed In

The past week, my inner romantic has taken over. I've been reading classics written by Jane Austen, listened to love ballads and painted my nails a pale grey. I've found myself charmed by anything soft and pretty, like this editorial from Vogue Nippon. Model Monika Jagaciak, one white dove, gorgeous melted plastic jewelry and some carefully applied make-up makes one gorgeous editorial. Shot by Sølve Sundsbø, bigger pictures can be found here.

Overload

Eamz Sandal / Möbius Strappy Hi / Eamz X Elastic / Block Pump Hi

While the Tea Petrovic shoes never were meant to be worn, these United Nude shoes are all available and ready to adorn your feet. All the different styles come in a multitude of colours and variations, and they all have wonderfully unique features.

The Frame model below is my absolute favourite, but I'd wear any of the colourful models in a heartbeat. There is even a non-heeled shoe I really like; the Coral model at the bottom of this post.

Could you pick a favourite?

Happiness And Silhouettes

Let's enjoy some shoe art, shall we? Again I can't help but fall in love with bizarre and eye-catching architectural design. These gorgeous shoes-slash-sculptures are by Tea Petrovic, a graduated student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.

Each model is an experiment with the high heel, because they determine the whole form of a shoe. These shoes are primarily an art object and their function is secondary. The focus is on the form, their only decorative element. Design is based on the exploration of new high heel shapes, resulting in numerous variations of their basic form.

The heel shapes are created by multiplying, intercepting and rotating 2D surfaces in order to achieve a 3D figure. To underline their sculptural form, the shoes are kept white.

Poster Of A Girl

Some days, all you want to do is put on your best wig, heavy make-up and some PVC and go hang out in the park. Right?

The Secret Of Happiness

A few pictures from the Public Poster Project, by the Dopludo Collective. I haven't been able to find very much information on this, but it seems like the pictures are from somewhere in Sweden. If all advertizing could be replaced by something like this, I'd be very happy.

The ASIFAWTSYBIKOF Post

Continuing with stuff from the darkest corners of my hard drive, here's the Amazing Shoes I Found And Wanted To Show You But I Kind Of Forgot post. I can't really imagine wearing any of these on a daily basis (except perhaps the ones above), and I do wonder how on earth one can walk in them, but they're certainly intriguing. A nice mix of crazy, sky high and ugly/awesome. Enjoy!

Little Things

Since I started blogging, I've become an expert at saving pictures and links for "future posts", then forget all about it, and wonder why I can't think of anything to write about. This post is a rather random collection of some of the things that have been collecting dust on my hard drive.

Switch the trainers with heels, and these two looks from the FW 10/11 Y-3 show pretty accurately represent what I wear every other day at the moment. I'm not yet used to wearing lots of colours, and go back to black very often.

Speaking of colours... These insane pieces of furniture would make any house a home for a mad hatter. From Dust Furniture.

Proenza Schouler accessoires. Do want.

Givenchy campaign, fall 1999. Sleek futurism at its best.

New shoes! These are 14 cm tall, and the heel is thin enough to make them a challenge to walk in, but I manage. I've never liked my legs better than when I'm wearing these.

Finally, a little dose of vintage advertising. I bet you had no idea sugar was a diet food!
