Something Borrowed, Something Blue
Is this the perfect dress for the wedding I'll be attending? Probably not. Will it do? Absolutely.
I'm thinking of having the dress shortened to somewhere below the knee, but first I'll have to see how it fits. Some times online shopping can be quite frustrating with all the waiting. I've also got no idea what shoes to wear with it, as my current shoe collection seems much too trendy for a formal occation, but I'm certainly not objecting to this new reason to go shoe shopping.

Rick Revisited
I'm not feeling great these days, which means I've been stuck indoors playing my favourite game of which shoes would I buy right now if I had unlimited funds? a lot. At the moment the choice would, surprizingly enough, be a pair of Rick Owens wedges. Until now, I haven't really gotten the appeal of RO footwear, probably because they aren't super tall, but I've been converted. These would be both comfortable and really practical come fall.

Bad Prada
Being back from a holiday can be nice, but today the summer sun is hidden by heavy rain clouds, and looking at these Prada footwear ads does nothing to lighten my mood.
The first ad is nice enough. Sure, the ridiculous embellishments are reminding me strongly of turkeys, but the chunky heels and the height of the shoes save the look.
But then we get to the picture below, and I start to weep a little inside. Prada is very often responsible for starting fashion trends, and if these shoes indicate any coming trends... Call me a shoe snob, but didn't we suffer enough when kitten heels were all the rage?

Shoe of the Week: Purple Patent
Another quick post from me today; I can't believe a week of vacation could make me this tired!
Stunning Fendi platform in mouth-watering shades of purple. I like! Picture from farfetch.com.

Head in the Wrong Place
I'm on vacation at the moment, but the blog goes on, thanks to the wonders of scheduled posting.
While browsing my favourite fashion community, I came across this hilarious example of laziness. Above; a runway picture from the Donna Karan Fall 2009 show. Below; the Donna Karan Fall 2009 ad. Now, that's just awful. As somebody else mentioned; which model gets paid for this?

Such a perfect shot. From Jak&Jil, of course.

Couture Feet
I'm on vacation at the moment, but the blog goes on, thanks to the wonders of scheduled posting.
Before jetting away to Crete, I managed to get a quick glance through all the couture shows, and the one thing that disappointed me the most was the lack of shoes that made me go wow. I might have overlooked some gems, but the pair above (Jean Paul Gaultier HC Fall 09) was the only one that really caught my interest. The clear plastic reminds me slightly of Chanel, the stockings of Balenciaga, and while the mix of the two could be considered trashy, I'm just amused.

Shoe of the Week: Shiny!
I've posted a few samples from the coming Nicholas Kirkwood collection already, but this one is new to me. Glossy and sleek, and with a touch of what looks like python; this shoe means business!

Down the Aisle
You say tomorrow is my wedding day? And I get to wear some brand new haute couture on my big day?
Then I'd like to introduce you to my beautiful white and red dress from Givenchy Fall 2009 Haute Couture. Karlie has borrowed my shawl and shoes. Below, you can see what my hair would look like; straight from the Chanel Fall 09 HC show.
I can't wait!

Here is a closer look at the details of the dress. (My wedding photographer would obviously be the wonderful Tommy Ton from the Jak&Jil blog.)

Thunderstruck
This week I've been packing, moving and unpacking. I got home to the news that a thunderbolt had taken out our modem, so I've been feeling very disconnected for a few days. Today the 'net is back up, but the connection is painfully slow.
However, I've managed to catch up with some online windowshopping, as I'm still searching for the perfect dress to wear to a wedding, and I've somehow aquired a strong craving for a grey YSL bag. Just have a look at these beauties; timeless, gorgeous statement pieces. Suddenly my own bag feels much less elegant.
